About the Creator Elian-James Showell (aka Eight) is a multidisciplinary artist (tattoo artist, tarot reader, painter, and graphic designer) based out of Missoula, Montana, where they own and operate Eight Coins Tattoo. Eight worked as an architect, designer, and installation artist in Philadelphia and New York City for 10 years before moving to Montana. Quickly after moving to the mountains, Eight decided to pursue their lifelong dream of becoming a professional artist. They abandoned their architecture career in 2014 when they began tattooing and painting professionally. Their artistic style reflects their background in tattooing, architecture and graphic design, as well as their interests in psychedelics, spirituality, pop art, queer culture, and music.
